Marisa R. Ferreira
Integrated Researcher
My academic journey has been marked by a pursuit of knowledge in various domains, shaping me into a versatile professional. I have a bachelor's degree in Agrarian Management (Portugal, 2000), a Master of Science in Economic and Management Sciences (Greece, 2002), and a PhD in Business Sciences (Portugal, 2012). My international and academic pursuits reflect a blend of management, economic sciences, and an exploration of the nonprofit world. Engaging with international programs has been a cornerstone of my professional life, I have been an invited lecturer in numerous international programs, spanning countries like Slovenia, Germany, Lithuania, Kosovo, Algeria, Italy, Greece, and many others. I underline a collaboration, as an invited researcher, at the Center for Co-operative Studies of University College Cork (UCC), in Ireland.
My professional journey is a demonstration of my commitment to education, leadership, and international collaboration. Started as a marketing and sales manager, in a small company for a year, I then embraced academia, and most of my time (more than 20 years) I was a lecturer, teaching the topics of marketing, general management, and nonprofit strategy and marketing.
Since completing my PhD, my scientific journey has been characterized by the publication of over thirty papers. The primary focus of my research spans nonprofit management and marketing, as well as corporate social responsibility and social innovation.
For the last two years, I assumed leadership roles, I am currently a Vice Dean of the School of Management and Technology of Porto Polytechnic Institute (ESTG-IPP), overseeing the organization's strategic direction and academic excellence. I am in charge of the international relationships, the research area, and the corporate social responsibility area. Since 2021 I have been CIICESI Deputy Director, in charge of international projects network and science dissemination.
