Sara Martins
Collaborator Researcher
Sara Martins is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Technology and Management of Polytechnic of Porto and researcher at INESC TEC. She was an Invited Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto from 2016 until 2020. She completed the PhD in 2018 by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, earning the title of European Doctorate. Her main area of scientific activity is Operations Research and Management. Her current research interests are: 1) Food Waste; 2) Collaborative Logistics; 3) Sustainable Supply Chains; 4) Distribution; 5) Retail Operations.
Sara Martins collaborated in 8 R&D projects. Her research was disseminated through 5 papers in top international peer-reviewed journals, 2 book-chapters, 2 papers in proceedings of international conferences, and 11 communications in international conferences. She supervised 11 master thesis and was a member of 18 master's examination boards (main argued). She integrated the organizing committee of the 2nd EURO Working Group Meeting on Retail Operations (2017), the fortnightly sessions of DEGI-Club and the annual Industrial Engineering and Management Symposium held by the Industrial Engineering and Management Department of University of Porto (2014-2019), and the 2nd EUROYoung Workshop (2020). She is a member of the Portuguese Association for Operational Research, the EURO Working Group on Retail Operations, and the Working Group on food waste, lead by Smart Waste Portugal Association.
