Marco Gomes is an assistant professor in the Department of Informatics at the School of Management and Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. He holds a Ph.D. in Informatics from the University of Minho, where he conducted research on Ambient Intelligence (AmI), Behavioral Analysis, and the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and Law.

Over the past years, his work has focused on processing and deriving insights from legal information and artificial intelligence topics. Throughout his academic and scientific career, he has focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence into Computer Science and Law. He has researched and utilized AI algorithms designed to validate and provide an understanding of the challenges of technically and algorithmically capturing and computing domain-related information in an intelligent environment. During the past years, his work has focused on processing and deriving insights from legal information and artificial intelligence topics.
