International Conference on Energy and Environment - ICEE 2024
ICEE 2024 took place on the 6th and 7th of June, organized by the School of Engineering, University of Minho, in Guimarães, Portugal. This conference objectives are to provide a space for interdisciplinary dialogue, sharing cutting-edge insights, and sparking innovation; to address the most complex energy and environmental challenges of our time by integrating engineering, economics, social sciences, and political perspectives; and to create a platform for experts, researchers, and scholars to forge collaborations that lead to a low-carbon, sustainable future.
This event was attended by Wellington Alves, a researcher at CIICESI and by Anna Luiza Souza Vieira Santos, a PhD Research Fellow, whose scholarship is carried out under the CIICESI Project UIDP/04728/2020, with financial support from FCT/MCTES through national funds (PIDDAC).
About the participation in ICEE 2024, Anna Luiza Souza Vieira Santos says, "the experiences obtained at the conference went beyond the presentation of my paper "The future of electric vehicle batteries: Pathways, Challenges, and Opportunities", which outlines part of my research work. They were also at the level of organization since I was on the Organizing Committee. As for the presentation of my paper, it was an enriching experience as it followed a mini discussion on the topic, and I was able to listen, exchange ideas, and learn from other points of view that will contribute to developing my research. As for my experience as an organizer, it was exhausting but rewarding to work on organizing the event by drawing up Proceeding Books, developing the program, and coordinating internal activities. It's important to note that the DPEIS Workshop, which happened the week before, allowed me to practice my presentation and receive feedback to improve it at the conference".
