LexiAI - Sistema de Inteligência Artificial para Pesquisa Juridica
The LexiAI project emerges in response to several critical needs in the legal sector, which faces a growing volume of information and legal documents, as well as increasing complexity in legal matters. Digital transformation and advances in artificial intelligence offer significant opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of legal activities, but they also introduce challenges that require innovative solutions.
The main needs that motivated the definition of the project include improving efficiency in retrieving legal information, as legal professionals spend considerable time searching for legal documentation; enhancing the accuracy in interpreting and generating legal texts, which is essential for productivity and quality of legal work; increasing accessibility and usability of legal systems, which require intuitive interfaces that enable interaction through text and audio; ensuring security and compliance, which is crucial for protecting sensitive legal data; and promoting knowledge transfer and specialist training, addressing the shortage of qualified professionals in AI applied to law.
The strategic objectives of the LexiAI project are designed to directly address these needs. The project aims to develop a retrieval-augmented legal research system to improve efficiency and accuracy in accessing legal information; create an AI-based legal language model capable of interpreting and generating legal texts with high precision; implement a multimodal interface that supports both text and audio interactions to enhance accessibility and usability; ensure legal security and compliance through the implementation of robust security and compliance measures; promote dissemination and academic impact through scientific publications, event organization, and participation in conferences; ensure user engagement and feedback by developing tools for continuous feedback collection; and train new specialists in AI applied to law by involving master’s and PhD students in the project.
